Mark Dannenfelser, MA, LPC is founding director of the Mindfulness Center of Atlanta. He is a licensed professional counselor, specializing in the treatment of traumatic loss, chronic stress, anxiety and depression. Mark is adjunct lecturer in the graduate division of theology (spiritual director training) at Spring Hill College and is the Aquinas Center of Theology at Emory University lecturer on Centering Prayer.

He holds the Master Degree in Counseling Psychology (MA) from Montclair University and the Master Degree in Pastoral Studies (MPS) from Spring Hill College. Mark has completed the MBSR teacher development intensive training program taught by Jon Kabat-Zinn, Saki Santorelli and senior staff from the Center for Mindfulness (CFM) and is a CFM Qualified Teacher of MBSR. He is a registered yoga teacher (RYT 200) and received advanced professional training in Yoga Therapy for Cancer & Chronic Illness (YCat). He completed the Clinical Training in Mind-Body Medicine, by Herbert Benson, MD, Benson-Henry Institute for Mind Body Medicine at Massachusetts General Hospital.

Professionally, Mark is most interested in working at the point of intersection between mindfulness practice and healing.
